| ectomorph have come to destroy your powercenters. the inequities of this system must be leveled. the power balance in your universe is wrong. we have come to right your many millennia of corrupt behavior. our robots will destroy your way of life. ectomorph first appeared via interdimensional transmissions debut release in 1995. they have materialized in many forms since then and document these progressions in their latest ep, destroy your powercenters. ectomorphfunctions as a collective with ever changing members and namelesscontributors revolving around main conduit brendan m gillen. ectomorphexists as an amplified id with the goal of conjuring pure forms ofelectronic funk to stimulate your mind & body. with the knowledge thatthought is electrical, this ep is the ultimate realization of the concept ofelectronic music as an organism, since electrical impulses similarly triggerboth thought and the synthesizer. this vinyl is these concepts made flesh,taking on new forms and diversions. from its inception, interdimensional transmissions has sought to releaseinnovative records from ectomorph's debut in 1995 to the criticallyacclaimed from beyond series that featured exclusive contributions from someof the worlds top electronic music producers including I-f, le car, sluts 'n' strings, krok, shake, keith tucker and phoenecia. since then, the labelhas released a 12" and album from I-f and extend their endeavors into thefuture with a new ep by gerhard potuznik and this, the 4th installment inthe ectomorph lexicon. the group has developed a new approach to sound through performing uniqueanalog live shows across the planet. the frequency of these performances hascreated a fluid communication of structure and improvisation. the live showsnow feature bmg accompanied by erika on keyboards and vox and dj godfatheron the turntables. for select performances, live computer-generated visualsby john manoogian III have been added to the spectacle. hobey echlin confirmed the effective result of this improvised approach inthe may/june issue of mixer by remarking that ectomorph's spookyset...peppered with dj godfathe's effects- warped scratching was purevoodoo wickedness that people actually danced to. simon reynolds coined the terms abstract booty and intelligent bass whenreviewing ectomorph's performance at input in nyc feb 1999 while remarking that melody is limited to one note finger synth-motifs that needle throughthe cochlea to tickle the innermost recesses of the brain; the texturalpalate comprises myriad subtle shades of ice and rubber; dub reverb givesthe music a crumbly-round-the-edges organic quality that compares favorablywith the clinical dessication of most electro. | ||||
